Focus Group Discussion on Signed Graphs and Coloring of Graph Studies

On December 3, 2024, the PUI-PT Combinatorics and Graph team at Universitas Jember successfully hosted a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) titled "Signed Graphs and Coloring of Graph Studies." The event featured prominent speakers, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., from Universitas Jember, Indonesia, and Ahmad Asiri from King Khalid University, Saudi Arabia. Conducted via Zoom, this session provided an excellent platform for exploring advanced topics in graph theory and discussing their applications in various fields.

The FGD was not only a significant academic discourse but also served as a strategic effort to enhance the international presence of PUI-PT Combinatorics and Graph. One of the primary objectives of the event was to strengthen research collaborations on combinatorics and graph studies with global institutions, particularly King Khalid University. This collaboration is vital in fostering the exchange of ideas, methodologies, and research advancements, ultimately contributing to the development of high-impact research outputs.

The discussion highlighted the importance of signed graphs and graph coloring as foundational tools in graph theory. These concepts play a critical role in solving real-world problems across disciplines, including network optimization, scheduling, and data security. The participation of esteemed researchers from diverse backgrounds further enriched the session, offering valuable insights and opportunities for future joint research projects.

This initiative underscores the commitment of Universitas Jember to advancing combinatorics and graph studies on an international scale. By building a strong network of collaborations with institutions like King Khalid University, PUI-PT aims to drive innovation, produce impactful publications, and solidify its position as a leading research hub in the field. The success of this event marks a significant step toward achieving these goals, paving the way for continued partnerships and groundbreaking research endeavors.
