Focus Group Discussion: PUI-PT Combinatorics and Graph Focus Group Discussion on Smart Greenhouse Development

PUI-PT Combinatorics and Graph organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) titled "Development of a Smart Greenhouse to Implement RBL-STEM in Climate Change Issues." The event took place on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 11:30 AM WIB, facilitated virtually from the University of Jember. The discussion was led by an expert speaker: Dr. Suhardi, S.T., M.T. – A faculty member from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jember, with a specialization in Smart Agriculture and Greenhouse Technology.

The event began with a welcome speech by Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., the Head of PUI-PT Combinatorics and Graph. In his remarks, Prof. Dafik emphasized the critical role of integrating smart technology and RBL-STEM (Research-Based Learning - Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) principles in developing sustainable agricultural systems that can effectively address the challenges posed by climate change.

The FGD aimed to foster discussion on the design and development of a smart greenhouse system that incorporates STEM-based learning methodologies to improve environmental sustainability and agricultural productivity. Participants exchanged ideas on how smart greenhouses can serve as both educational tools and practical solutions to climate-related issues. This innovative approach seeks to enhance learning experiences for students and researchers while contributing to climate resilience. The event attracted the participation of researchers, academics, practitioners, and students interested in exploring the future of smart agriculture. It highlighted the commitment of the University of Jember to advancing education and technological research for sustainable agricultural development.
