Focus Group Discussion: Development of a Smart Greenhouse to Implement RBL-STEM in Climate Change Issues

PUI-PT Combinatorics and Graph held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) titled "Development of a Smart Green House to Implement RBL-STEM in Climate Change Issues". The event took place on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the CGANT Room, 6th Floor, CDAST Building, University of Jember. The discussion featured two prominent speakers:

  1. Prof. Bayu Taruna Widjaja Putra, Ph.D. - A faculty member from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jember, specializing in Smart Farming, Precision Agriculture, and Deep Learning.
  2. Dr. Suhardi, S.T., M.T. - Also a faculty member from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jember, with expertise in Greenhouse Management and Agricultural Product Processing.

The event was organized by PUI-PT Combinatorics and Graph and was opened with remarks by Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., the head of the center. In his opening speech, Prof. Dafik emphasized the importance of integrating smart technology into greenhouse management to address climate change issues effectively.

The FGD aimed to explore innovative approaches to developing smart greenhouses that incorporate Research-Based Learning (RBL) and STEM education principles. The discussions were focused on leveraging technology to improve agricultural practices and sustainability in the face of global climate challenges.

Participants, including researchers, academicians, and students, actively engaged in the dialogue, exchanging ideas and perspectives on the future of smart agriculture. The event underscored the University of Jember's commitment to advancing research and education in agricultural technology and sustainability.
