International Conference on Machine Learning and Neural Networks is an international conference organised annually by PUI-PT Combinatorics and Graph. This year, ICONNSMAL will be held from 7 November 2023 to 8 November 2023. In preparation for ICONNSMAL 2023, PUI-PT Combinatorics and Graph hosted a pre-conference webinar on "Approaches to Developing Big Data Literacy". This webinar featured three speakers with different research backgrounds. Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. as head of PUI-PT Combinatorics and Graph said in his remarks that the continuous development of big data literacy and a combination of different approaches can help individuals or organisations to master the use of big data effectively. Therefore, in the current AI era, it is important to always be open to technological developments and AI to support various fields such as education, agriculture, research, etc.
The first speaker, Prof. Bayu Taruna Widjaja Putra, B.Agr.Tech., M.Eng., Ph.D., talked about "Big Data in Agriculture". Prof. Bayu explained that Big Data includes data generated from various sources such as agricultural sensors, weather monitoring devices, satellite imagery and geographic information systems (GIS). The use of big data in agriculture opens the door to the development of more efficient and sustainable agricultural practices. The second speaker, Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D., talked about "Metaliteracy in the Digital Age". Prof. Dafik explained that in today's fast-paced and interconnected digital age, the ability to adapt to, understand and manage the constant flow of information is one of the skills required of individuals around the world. The final speaker, Rifki Ilham Baihaki, S.Si., M.Mat. presented material on "Machine Learning and Deep Learning". Rifki said that machine learning is a branch of artificial intelligence that focuses on developing algorithms that allow computers to understand and respond to data without explicit programming.
