PUI-PT COMBINATORICS AND GRAPH

CGANT UNIVERSITAS JEMBER

Combinatorics, Graph Theory and Network Topology

The 8th ICCGANT 2024

On November 12-13, 2024, PUI-PT Combinatorics and Graph successfully hosted the 8th International Conference on Combinatorics, Graph Theory, and Network Topology (ICCGANT) 2024. This event focused on the latest developments in Graph Theory and was conducted in a hybrid format, combining online sessions via Zoom Meeting and offline sessions at the 4th-floor Auditorium of the CDAST Building, University of Jember.

The first day of the event began with a welcome speech by Prof. Drs. Bambang Kuswandi, M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Rector 4 of the University of Jember. In his address, Prof. Bambang emphasized the importance of this conference as an international discussion forum that not only strengthens the University of Jember's position on the global stage but also opens broader research collaboration opportunities in the field of Combinatorics and Graph Theory. Continuing this theme, Prof. Drs. Slamin, M.Comp.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Rector 1 of the University of Jember, expressed his support, highlighting that this conference is a tangible manifestation of the University of Jember's commitment to supporting global research and innovation, particularly in graph theory and its applications.

The first day of the conference featured three keynote speakers who delivered engaging and innovative presentations in their respective fields:

  1. Prof. V. Lokesha (Vijayanagara Krishnadevaraya University, India). Prof. Lokesha presented a topic titled “Contemporary Augmentation in The Topological Indices”. Prof. Lokesha discussed how topological indices are utilized in various modern applications, including the analysis of chemical structures and networks.
  2. Prof. Drs. Slamin, M.Comp.Sc., Ph.D. (University of Jember, Indonesia). Prof. Slamin delivered a talk on “Magic and Antimagic Polygons”. Prof. Slamin provided in-depth insights into the magical and antimagic properties of polygons and their practical applications in graph theory.
  3. Prof. Dr. İsmail Naci CANGÜL (Bursa Uludag University, Turkey). Prof. CANGÜL spoke on “New Applications of Omega Invariant to Algebraic Graphs”. Prof. CANGÜL elaborated on the role of the Omega invariant in the analysis of algebraic graphs and its implications for advanced studies in this field.
  4. Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. (University of Jember, Indonesia). Prof Dafik delivered a talk titled “Super Antimagicness of Hypergraph and Its Application for Symmetric Encryption”. Prof. Dafik explained how the concept of super antimagic in hypergraphs can be applied to generate more secure cryptographic keys in symmetric encryption systems.
  5. Prof. Drs. Edy Tri Baskoro, M.Sc., Ph.D. (Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia). Prof Edy discussed the topic “Ramsey Minimal Graphs for Matching”. In his presentation, Prof. Edy provided insights into Ramsey minimal graphs and how these structures can be applied in matching analysis across various applications.
  6. Prof. Dr. Roslan bin Hasni (Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia). Prof. Roslan presented on “Amazing Journey in Graph Theory: Social Network Analysis, Topological Indices, and Domination”. Prof. Roslan shared his research journey in graph theory, focusing on social network analysis, topological indices, and domination concepts, along with their practical implications in various fields.

The first and second day ICCGANT concluded with a group photo session, followed by parallel sessions. These sessions provided an opportunity for researchers and academics to present their studies, discuss their findings, and expand their professional networks. Participants in these sessions came from various universities, both within and outside Indonesia, including Institut Teknologi Bandung, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya, Universitas Trunojoyo Madura, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Mulawarman, Institut Teknologi Kalimantan, and international institutions such as Mindanao State University Philippines, Vijayanagara Krishnadevaraya University, Texas A&M University – Kingsville, and MSU-Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography.
