This year’s International Conference on Combinatorics, Graph Theory, and Network Topology (ICCGANT) will be held from 21 November 2023 to 22 November 2023. In preparation for ICCGANT 2023, PUI-PT Combinatorics and Graph is holding a webinar with the theme “Big Data Analytics and Data Security”. This webinar presented three lecturers, namely Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. from Department of Mathematics Education, Dr. Ika Hesti Agustin, S.Si., M.Si. from Department of Mathematics, and Zainur Rasyid Ridlo, S.Pd., M.Pd. from Department of Science Education. Prof. Drs. Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. as Chair of PUI-PT Combinatorics and Graph said that big data literacy and data security are interrelated and both have a big impact on the success and sustainability of an organization in this digital era. A person or organization that understands how to use big data wisely and protect their data well will have a competitive advantage and can maintain customer trust and run business operations more efficiently.
The first speaker was Prof. Drs., Dafik, M.Sc., Ph.D. delivered material regarding “Cryptosystems in Data Security”. Cryptosystems utilize cryptographic principles to encode data, making it difficult or even nearly impossible to decipher without the appropriate key. Thus, the presence of a cryptosystem becomes the main pillar in maintaining data confidentiality, integrity and authentication. The second speaker, Dr. Ika Hesti Agustin, S.Si., M.Sc., delivered material on “Biometrics Encryption”. The use of Biometrics Encryption can help prevent false identities. Because biometric traits are unique and difficult to spoof, the risk of attacks involving the use of fake identities can be significantly reduced. Dr. Ika added that biometric encryption combined with graph labeling can increase security. The third speaker was Zainur Rasyid Ridlo, S.Pd., M.Pd. conveyed about “Smart Sensors for Agriculture Big Data”.
